Black Lives Matter Resources

A lot of my followers on instagram have sent me amazing black lives matter resources that I really want to share with you.

We are living in a time that will change history and that’s something I’m thrilled to be apart of.

HOW DID YOU GROW UP?

It feels weird to be in the year 2020 and have racism be more alive than ever. Growing up I was taught to treat others the way I was treated. I’ve striven my whole life to do that because I know how awful it can feel to be bullied and left out.

I do NOT however have any clue what it feels like to be mistreated because of the color of my skin, and this movement has is really opening up my eyes and making me see, I still have so much to learn. (NOTE: Some of the links provided are affiliate links and I do get a small commission from them. They help support my channel. Thanks so much for your support!)

“I’M NOT A RACIST”

It’s not enough to think and say “I’m not racist”. What does that sentence really mean?

Over this past week I’ve dug deep into reading blog posts, watching movies, discussing what “I’m not racist” really means and more so, listening. In a few short sentences, this is what I’ve learned.

  • It means I do not judge or treat people differently because of their skin (aka treat people the way I want to be treated – come on it’s 2020 let’s all act this way).
  • It means when my grandparents, friends and even family say something that is remotely disrespectful, I don’t just sit there in silence, I SPEAK THE FUCK UP.
  • It means when my fellow humans ask for help because they feel mistreated I LISTEN and I HELP.

Let me know in the comments what you’ve learned. Now let’s get to the resources.
